Description

In 1996, the Domaine de la Bégude became the beginning of Guillaume and Soledad Tari's vintage journey. The latter, the seventh generation of winegrowers, raised at Château Giscours in Margaux, Gascon by birth, naturally became a Bandolais by adoption, in love with the Mourvèdre grape variety and its terroir of predilection.

Located on the highest point of the Bandol appellation, at 410 meters above sea level, its 500 hectares of land sleep in the shade of the Sainte Baume, on the aptly named Cadière d'Azur, protecting in their ramparts of scrubland, and forest, 30 hectares of vines divided into 55 plots.

The estate houses on one of its plots overlooking the sea, a conservatory to the glory of Mourvèdre: the largest reservoir in the world of this grape variety that brings together more than 150 varieties. An open-air museum.

Seduced by the beauty of this wild nature on the coast and determined to protect it, Guillaume Tari has banned, since his arrival in 1996, all weedkillers, pesticides and chemical fertilizers. Living in 500 hectares of unspoilt nature, far from any non-organic cultural practice is an invaluable opportunity.

The Tari family, now guardians of this thirst-quenching stop, takes the greatest care of the estate and its vineyard so that each of its vintages reflects the splendid beauty of the place and tells you its story.
