Selection cellar Maison des Millésimes Paris
Château Lalande-Borie was created from scratch in 1970 by Jean-Eugène Borie on a plot of 30 hectares. Today, this estate, which quickly acquired a good reputation, is managed by his son Bruno Borie, also in charge of Château Ducru-Beaucaillou.
Bruno Borie, also in charge of Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, manages the estate and supervises the vineyard and winemaking.
The vineyard extends over 25 hectares located on the western plateau of the Saint-Julien appellation, where there are many second and third growths of the 1855 classification. The grape varieties give pride of place to Cabernet Sauvignon which represents 65% of the surface, with then 25% of Merlot and 10% of Cabernet Franc.
In the vineyards, the yields are controlled and the gestures are those of the reasoned struggle. The harvest is manual, for moderately extractive vinification and barrel aging where new wood does not dominate.
