Domaine Le Conte des Floris is a winery located in the beautiful Languedoc region, in Pézenas, France. Founded by a passionate winemaker, Julien Zernott, the estate embodies the quintessence of the art of traditional viticulture while embracing modern and eco-friendly approaches. With a rich history dating back to 2006, this family-run estate produces exceptional wines that fully express the unique terroir of this sunny region of southern France.
The unique terroir:
Domaine Le Conte des Floris extends over a mosaic of varied terroirs, characteristic of the Languedoc region. The vines are planted on clay-limestone, schist and volcanic soils, each bringing its own personality to the grapes. The Mediterranean climatic conditions, with hot and dry summers, are ideal for the ripening of the grape varieties.
Artisanal winemaking:
Julien Zernott puts forward an approach to viticulture based on biodynamics and the philosophy of "least intervention possible". The grapes are carefully harvested by hand and sorted with precision to ensure quality. Fermentation is done naturally with indigenous yeasts, and the wines are aged in French oak barrels, allowing the characteristics of the terroir to be fully expressed.
