Description
For many centuries, our family has put their heart and soul into the work they do in the vineyards. Founded in 1985, the Domaine has not stopped growing and today it has 12 hectares of vineyards located mainly in Chassagne-Montrachet, as well as a few plots in Volnay and Pommard.
OUR FAMILY
Each generation has shared their experience and passion with the next, while respecting family values that are very important to them. The Domaine was founded by Laurence - Jacques and Marie-Josèphe Gagnard's daughter - and Richard - backed by his experience in the air force, with several vineyards passed down from family.
A NEW GENERATION
Céline joined the Domaine in 2007 and confirmed her experience by respecting the same values. In 2018, Frédéric decided to join her in order to acquire all the necessary winegrowing and winemaking skills.
Working in the VINEYARDS
All year round, we are committed to working on our vineyards in order to give them the highest qualitative potential for the harvest (pruning, tilling, regular soil analyses, annual replacement of dead vines, sustainable agriculture…).
Vignification & Ageing
We make our wine using traditional methods: fermentation using indigenous yeast and ageing for 12 to 18 months in oak barrels. Each wine follows the same winemaking process and therefore represents the best characteristics of its terroir. Only the amount of new oak barrels varies: 15-20% for the Village appellations and 30-40% for the Premiers Crus and Grands Crus.
PERFECTING OUR EXEPERTISE
Wood is an essential part of our winemaking approach. Every year we choose where our oak comes from, with the artisinal production greatly respecting this high-quality material in order to make sure our wines always have the purest and most elegant characteristics.
Our TERROIRS
Our range of wines consists of 22 appellations from the villages of Chassagne-Montrachet, Volnay and Pommard.
