Roc de Cambes is a UFO in the Bordeaux landscape so its wines have a taste signature oh how popular with amateurs. They are not mistaken: the wines produced by the Mitjavile family are remarkable: concentration, density, already excellent and on the fruit in their youth but an excellent ability to go through the years, when you have Roc de Cambes in the cellar, you do not really worry ... In a very close range, the family also produces a cuvée "Domaine de Cambes" with vineyards located on the edge of Gironde.
So what is the recipe for such success? First of all the terroir: clay-limestone with hillside plots that dominate the estuary east of the citadel of Bourg, an ancestral vineyard protected by the Gironde that provides a regulation of thermal excesses. All the conditions are met to bring the grapes to their perfect maturity.
But it is also the hand of man, with the work in the vineyard and a know-how of the Mitjavile family throughout the stages of the elaboration of the wines that will bring the essential bricks to cross the steps of the quintessence. The work on the old vines of Merlot (majority), Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec (less than 5%) ends in a magnificent cellar of the fourteenth century with long, precise and meticulous breeding.

The style of Roc de Cambes wines is unique in the taste landscape of Bordeaux. Intense and dark in color, the structure and class of this wine can already be seen visually. From the outset, the nose is very expressive and begins to take you on a journey into the "Roc de Cambes" universe. On the palate, you will immediately feel that everything is in place: tannic structure, freshness, balance, the bases in short to serve as a support for what makes Roc de Cambes identity: a high class flavor signature! Depending on the evolution, aromas will emerge dominated by black fruits (blackberries, morello cherries, blackcurrant), with a tendency to sometimes turn sour. The evolution of the wines will reveal secondary and tertiary aromas on liquorice, spices, tobacco, roasting with sometimes a slightly minty finish.

All this would not be so magical if in addition to this aromatic richness, the wine did not present a formidable texture of finesse and smoothness. A perfect "glide" in the mouth which will bring the level of your bottle on the table down visibly ...
