User profile description

The quality of the wine depends largely on what nature has to offer the grapes. That is why, in our Estates, we feed our plants only with natural products, growing them under the vines with green manures from nutrient-rich legumes. In this way, the vines are in natural harmony with the surrounding greenery, with less necessary treatments. THE DOMAIN OF SANT'ANDREA In the early 1900s, we planted our first vines at the Sant'Andrea estate in Rosciano. They are the true historical and cultural heritage of our company and their rooted cuttings are used to plant new vineyards. The Sant'Andrea estate is located at about 300 meters above sea level and covers an area of about 50 hectares, 30 of which are vineyards. In this area, vineyards benefit greatly from the nutrients that the soil provides, given the presence of taff and the predominantly clay soil. In our estate, 24 hectares are cultivated with Montepulciano grapes, about two hectares with Chardonnay grapes in the Punta di Colle area and about two hectares with Pinot Noir grapes for our sparkling wine base. We also planted Maiolica, an ancient black grape variety. THE DOMAIN OF MILAN The Milano estate, in the municipality of Rosciano, covers an area of about 27 hectares, of which 15 hectares are Montepulciano and six hectares are Pecorino. Near the vineyards, on an area of about one hectare, is an olive grove with the varieties Maurino, Frantoio, Itrana and Leccio del Corno. The remaining five hectares of the property are woods. The composition, exposure and position of the soil make it particularly suitable for growing vines and olive trees. A farmhouse of the twentieth century overlooks the vineyard: we have completely renovated it by restoring its original charm, and it is now used as a tasting room and for social events. THE TRATTURO DOMAIN The Tratturo estate, together with the Sant'Andrea di Rosciano estate, reflects the history of our family. Here, the soil not only has a unique composition but is also fully exposed to the sun, in a flat area located about 200 meters above sea level, which creates a favorable climate for the cultivation of vines and olive trees. We planted three hectares of Trebbiano vines and 700 olive trees in our estate. Here we also produce clean energy for our company.
