Description

Château La Bouade: A story of passion, respect and innovation.

Passion is the strength of inspiration and the desire to create an excellent wine. Respect means moving forward in harmony with tradition and nature. Innovation is history, tradition, know-how adapted to lifestyle and modern needs.

Château La Bouade produces exclusively Liquoreux wines from Sauternes and Barsac: Château La Bouade, Cuvée Coccinelle and Clos Mercier.
We will be delighted to welcome you for a presentation of our vineyard. We will explain the work done in the vineyard, then the work done in the winemaking and finally the aging of the wines. Finally, we will offer you a tasting of some of our vintages.
We look forward to welcoming you to the estate very soon!

History of the castle Founded in 1800 In 1914, the Pauly family bought the property, which at the time had only 8 hectares of vines, the rest being meadows dedicated to the breeding and cultivation of cereals. In 1990, when the Pauly Heirs could not physically take care of the operation, the family decided to install a manager there to continue to support them. The Château La Bouade survived for almost 20 years, appearing technically frozen in time. In January 2009, following the retirement of the first manager, the Pauly family put two new managers at the head of the family property, Stéphane Wagrez, winemaker at the château since 2005 and Olivier Fargues, head of culture in Sauternes for 10 years. Drawing on their complementary experiences, the two co-managers are committed to getting operations back on track ... Château La Bouade Our appellations and wines About 40 kilometres south of Bordeaux are two exceptional appellations, Barsac and Sauternes. Château La Bouade is the northernmost farmhouse of the AOC Barsac at the entrance to the city, on Route 113 along the Garonne. The vineyard stretches over 16 hectares around the castle and 4 hectares on the "Barsac Heights": The Mercier Enclosure. See less
