For four generations, André JACQUART’s family was only grape growers. It was not until 1958 that André JACQUART started producing his own champagne from the family vineyards located in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs. In 2004, Marie DOYARD, André JACQUART’s grant-daughter and grant-grant-daughter of Maurice DOYARD Founder of the CIVC, took over the family domain. With a fresh mind, she decided to change 3 key aspects of the champagne production. She increased the ageing period to reach a higher gustative quality. To better keep the singularity of each wines, the dosage was lowered to 3-4g/L. Last but not least, she changed the vinification process by using burgundy ‘barrels instead of traditional stainless-steel tanks in order to gain complexity. To further enhance the typicity and lively freshness of her champagnes, malolactic fermentation was no longer carried out. The champagne André JACQUART has always been looking ahead with a pioneering spirit focusing on the respect of the terroir and high quality above all. In line with its strategy, the estate was certified HVE3 (sustainable viticulture) in 2019. See less
