Les Poëte - Orphée - 2019 - Vin de France

White

Description

The Orphée vintage is a pure, fresh and dynamic Sauvignon, coming from clay-limestone terroirs and flint clay on the surface. From the opening, the nose offers great expressiveness with aromas of acacia, exotic citrus fruits and white flowers, enveloped in an intense minerality. On the palate, the wine presents a beautiful tension, carried by notes of pink grapefruit, lemon and sage. It represents the pure expression of the grape variety, with a tense and invigorating attack which evolves towards a finish marked by notes of fresh herbs and citrus fruits.

Know a bit more about the domain

Guillaume Sorbe, winemaker and son of a line of winegrowers, created his own estate, Les Poëte, in 2006, using the family vines. Specializing in Loire wines, notably Pouilly-Fumé, Touraine and Vin de France, the estate highlights three main grape varieties: sauvignon blanc, pinot noir, and pinot gris. The estate's motto embodies its philosophy, focused on highlighting the best terroirs to produce very high-level wines.

Although confidential, the estate extends over 7 hectares in the Quincy and Reuilly appellations, not claiming AOP but rather “Vin de France” status. He also owns 1.5 hectares in Touraine, giving birth to the “S” vintage. Produced organically according to Demeter specifications, Les Poëte cannot, however, obtain certification due to particularities in the breeding of bees and the construction of the wax frames.
