Cos d'Estournel - 1994 - Saint-Estèphe

Red

Description

The 1994 vintage reveals a breathtaking harmony between extraordinary richness and astonishing freshness. Resolutely powerful in expressions of black fruits, nutmeg, black tea, and spices, it is also endowed with great liveliness, thanks to its minerality.
With this opulent sweetness counterbalanced by an unprecedented energy, Cos d'Estournel 1994 presents itself as a true model of the expression of our terroir.

Know a bit more about the domain

The estate was founded by Louis-Gaspard d'Estournel, who inherited vines near the village of Cos in 1811. The dazzling success due to the quality of the wine allowed him distant exports, notably to India, earning him the nickname Maharajah . In 1830, to celebrate this, he topped his cellars with Chinese pagodas, which would from then on be the exotic image of Cos, and brought a 17th century door from Zanzibar.
