Know a bit more about the domain

The history of Chateau Lafite Rothschild is very old and it obviously had a front row seat in the 1855 classification as a 1st grand cru classé.
Its situation is in many respects exceptional, and there is nothing better than going there to see it. A magnificent terroir made up of deep gravel, with a sub-layer of deep marl and then a limestone subsoil).
Everything is done to produce wines of excellence: old vines, low yields, meticulous sorting of the harvest, mastered aging in the best qualities of oak with sustained toasting.
From our tasting committee, the wines of Lafite are often difficult to apprehend in their youth, the wine is so dense, structured, sometimes austere (except perhaps the 2016 and 2018, magnificent indulgence when they come out)
But if you are lucky enough to have a few bottles from 10 years old, you will then understand the great class of Lafite with an aromatic complexity and an extraordinary longevity.
