Château Chasse-Spleen is a 105 ha wine estate located in the Médoc, more precisely in Moulis-en-Médoc. It is one of the exceptional crus bourgeois, of the first edition of the classification of crus bourgeois dating from 1932.
The castle was named after discussions around 1860 between Rosa Ferriere, the mistress of the place, and her neighbour, Odilon Redon, a renowned Symbolist painter. He has, in fact, illustrated the Fleurs du Mal by Charles Baudelaire.
Their soil is made up of 80% Garonne gravel on limestone substrate with starfish. The remaining 20% being clay-limestone.
