The Sauvion Family, a passion for "Muscadet Pleasure" !!! The Sauvion Family, all for your pleasure!!! Maison SAUVION is located in the heart of the Nantes vineyard at Château du Cléray-Sauvion in Eolie. Eolie, land of the wind, evoking the gentle ocean breeze that comes to caress the vines. Acquired by Ernest SAUVION in 1935, the Château du Cléray-Sauvion is, with its old vaulted cellars, one of the oldest properties in the vineyards of Sèvre and Maine. It covers 95 hectares, planted mainly by Muscadet Sèvre - Maine, but also Gros-Plant, Chardonnay and Sauvignon. The soils are silico-clay, rather late but rich soil, with high potential for guarding. Maison SAUVION has always occupied a special place in the vineyard by its style, the quality of its Muscadet as well as its distribution mainly in traditional circuits or in niche markets. To affirm its difference, Maison SAUVION proposes Sauvion's Haute Culture, a line that brings together in a refined presentation of the Muscadet of gastronomy expressing finesse, elegance and style that characterize the "signature" SAUVION. These Muscadet Haute Culture also reveal the characteristics of the terroir and some, by their structure and richness, become amazing wines of care thus recalling the Burgundian origin of the melon grape variety. From the very beginning of its activity, the Maison SAUVION has made every effort to give its Muscadets a nobility, thus valuing the entire appellation. Today, more than 60% of its wines are exported to more than 80 countries, making it an ambassador for the Nantes vineyard. The Muscadets are found on the most prestigious tables around the world. Pierre-Jean Sauvion, son of Yves Sauvion, was born in the middle of the garden, his parents' house is surrounded by vines. Rocked in the wine industry since his childhood, passionate about wine culture, Pierre-Jean is an winemaker, a graduate of the University of Bordeaux. After his studies, he made wines in California, Australia, Alsace, Cahors, Bordeaux... then returned to the family home, at Château du Cléray - Sauvion in 2004. From now on, Pierre-Jean, "Pleasure Maker", fashions the wines of Maison Sauvion, to our delight, to the glory of the wines.
