Named after the original founders of the estate, the Avignonesi family, the winery has had an exciting journey since its creation. Acquired by Virginie Saverys in 2009, Avignonesi has expanded and has become a leader in biodynamic viticulture in Italy. Since the acquisition and thanks to Virginie's respect for the ecosystem, its staff and the end consumer, the winery has begun to produce and produce organic wines that are truly authentic to their origins but singular and unique. And in the best biodynamic approach our wines receive a minimal intervention in the cellar! Sustainability also plays a big role in everyday life in Avignonesi. About us About us To date, the estate has expanded to 170 hectares of vineyards, including the purchase of a state-of-the-art winemaking facility in the Montepulciano appellation. It is Virginie's perseverance in taking care of the land and her irresistible desire to produce a fairly unique wine faithful to its origins that have made it possible to revive the vines and create a healthier working environment for all the staff. Avignonesi wines enhance the richness and elegance of Montepulciano's heritage. Sangiovese wines have been produced here for centuries, and the fascination that reigns around this appellation is reinforced by the "back to the roots, no unnatural intervention" approach that biodynamic viticulture implies. This methodology and the passion shared by all the staff to produce high quality products, due to the deep belief in the values shared by the management team, allows us to respect the innate character of each wine by following its natural path from the floor to the cellar and finally to the glass!
