Description

Every day we look at the sky and listen to the earth to raise our wines in accordance with the power and wisdom of nature.

Drinking one of our wines also means surveying our vineyards, nestled among pines, holm oaks, thyme and silence. Walking our vineyards is to regain calm to allow our senses to rediscover all the pleasure of drinking one of our wines. Welcome to Mas Costeplane.

We will be happy to welcome you for a presentation of our vineyard. We will explain the work done in the vineyard, then the work done in the winemaking and finally the refinement of the wines. Finally, we will offer you a tasting of some of our vintages.
We look forward to welcoming you to the estate very soon!

AN EXCEPTIONAL SITUATION IN AN EXCEPTIONAL SETTING... Located in Languedoc, 20 kilometres north-west of Nîmes and 40 kilometres north of Montpellier. Between the Mediterranean and the Cevenole Mountains, Le Mas de Costeplane enjoys a very sunny climate, often torrid in summer, and with a hundred nights of frost in winter. More than two kilometres from their closest neighbours, the Mas and its vineyards are isolated in the middle of scrubland-covered hills where pines, holm oaks and aromatic plants mix. The calm of the place delights visitors, winemakers and their three donkeys, Papouille, Aneth and Hugo. A history that goes centuries long but whose adventure goes back much further. The oldest deed of sale of the property dates from 1405, when only the ruins of a church remain today, some tile debris in the top of a Syrah vineyard and a magnificent green oak tree that watches over the grapes with us. The walls date back to 1850 and have seen many stories. The Mas housed in turn a sheepfold, a winery, magnaneries (silkworm breeding) and, until 1960, a stable for horses, then necessary for crops. The work of many generations has helped to give the domain the face you will find in it today. At the time of the reconstruction of the particular winery in 1989 the estate was moved into organic viticulture. Convinced by the taste quality of biodynamic wines, we have been Demeter certified since 2011. See less
