Description
Heir to the Aminoity described by Virgil in the 1st century BC, the Malbec grape variety had a reputation for making the best wine in the entire Roman Empire at the time of Jesus. Cahors has been making it its grape variety for more than 2000 years. The only vineyard to be able to replant in Gaul on the order of Emperor Probus in the 3rd century, the Cahors was for Francis 1st "the best wine in the world".
He also chose a winemaker from our village to plant Malbec feet in his château de Fontainebleau. Some Popes and Saints lent the Cahors sacred origins and Tsar Peter the Great made it definitively the wine of mass of the Orthodox Church.
We would be happy to welcome you for a presentation of our wine. We explain the work done in the wine, then the work done in the winemaking and finally the refinement of the wines. Finally, we offer a tasting of some of our millennials.

THE GENESIS OF THE DOMAIN The desire to wake up a sleeping beauty... and to found a large estate in Cahors as there have been for eighteen centuries, by associating... A romantic faith Cahors wine remains closely attached to history and the Christian faith. A Wine of Mass of the Orthodox Church for eight centuries, the Malbec grape has been given sacred origins. The village of Roques, in its very name, is, as can the village of Rocamadour, a direct reference to the image of the Woman of Revelation protected by the rock of the river of water spewed by the dragon. A beautiful terroir The Roques and the surrounding villages benefit from some of the richest clay-limestone and ferrurginous soils on the planet, allowing a rich, fine and mineral expression at the same time. A legendary grape variety The Malbec grape variety is the heir to the Aminoe described by Virgil in the 1st century BC. He had a reputation for producing the best wine in the time of Jesus.
