The family of wineries of the Bodega de las Estrellas has now reached four generations of tradition. A vocation that began in the mid-nineteenth century when the vineyard expanded in the central region of Castile, a consequence of the arrival of phylloxera to Europe; being able to consolidate and grow since the soils of this region, of permeable limestone marls, created resistance to the plague and, contrary to the rest of Spanish and European territories, replanting was not generalized. The achievements of the first generations were rewarded with the Silver Medal in white and red wines, vintage 1928, in the National Wine Competition of International Exhibition of Barcelona (1929). The fourth generation of the family headed by Dionisio and Karina, in the face of the productivist and denaturing trend, chooses to evolve in the search for authenticity and true quality, which is consolidated with the Gold Medal, in the Biofach 2003 International Organic Wine Competition and the beautiful but difficult path of the independent wine grower with biological cultivation of the vineyards and natural winemaking.
