Description
Château MARCHAND BELLEVUE is located in the Inter-Mers, or rather the Inter-River
since between the Dordogne and the Garonne! So we are on deep clay-limestone hillsides.
I am Alain Dufourg and I have occupied the house since my childhood, near the village of
Targon, between the Abbey of La Sauve-Majeure and the bastide of Sauveterre-de-Guyenne.
In 2010, I took over the management of the estate, inherited from my grandfather and I decided to give it to him
a new lease of life.
High Merchant becomes Château MARCHAND BELLEVUE due to the exceptional view of a
huge sea of vines.
My challenge and philosophy: to produce quality wines to please while respecting the soil,
earth, the plant:
"I only do the treatments if it is necessary, if the pressure of the fungi is high or if the
risks are high";
"The earth is my working tool and I want it to last a long time. For this, I am trying to
produce wines that respect the environment and the plant."
"Today my vineyard is certified High Environmental Value (HVE), I weed
mechanically, not chemically. I don't intend to stop there! I took the side of making
very reasoned agriculture! »
