Description

Armagnac is the oldest brandy in France, known since the Middle Ages for its therapeutic virtues and marketed since the 16th century. This brandy is slowly developed in the heart of Gascony. It was the meeting of three civilizations that gave birth to Armagnac: the Romans brought the vine in Armagnac, the Arabs the still, and the Celts were. The reputation of Armagnac eaux-de-vie is based on ancestral know-how whose manufacturing processes are carefully transmitted from generation to generation.

You will visit the cellars of this estate and then you will taste the Eaux de vies and Armagnacs from their production.

Armagnac Goudoulin was founded in 1935 by Mrs. Jeanne Ménal Goudoulin born in 1887 in Mouchan in the Gers. Jeanne Goudoulin became by marriage the owner of the Domaine de Bigor in Courrensan in 1908, and following the death of her husband Joseph Goudoulin in 1925, following war wounds of 14/18, she operated alone her property of the Domaine de Bigor located in Courrensan in Bas Armagnac. In the 30s and 40s, she sold her Armagnacs on the markets and in particular on the Bearnaise region. It has a large stock of Armagnac, accumulated by itself and previous generations and therefore decides to market it directly in 1935. In 1964, his grandson Christian Faure came to lend him a hand. In 1967, he took over the estate after several years spent with his grandmother who passed on all his knowledge and all his art on the trade. In 2009, after having developed the activity and the notoriety of the brand, Christian Faure retired. Michel Miclo, owner of the G. Miclo family distillery in Alsace, acquires Veuve Goudoulin Armagnacs and sets up a team whose mission is to develop a new brand influence while preserving the authenticity and recognized quality of Armagnacs. Thanks to its large personal stocks, Armagnac Veuve Goudoulin presents very old vintages, of remarkable quality, which will give you satisfaction both by their finesse and by their aroma and bouquet, all from the best terroirs. Since 2009, Goudoulin has regained its premium positioning making it one of the houses of great renown in the world of Armagnac. See less
