Description

Juan Ignacio Belasco - President of Grupo La Navarra Familia Belasco's dream of increasing its presence in the world of wine has taken us to Argentina, a country producing high quality wine. Mendoza was the perfect place to explore the peculiarities of southern hemisphere wine and wine. Mendoza is Argentina's main wine region and one of the largest in the world.

Winemaking is a process that involves many important steps. The scene of the first stage begins with the vineyard. The harvest follows. Finally, the grapes are brought to the cellar to be processed according to the best winemaking techniques. These special moments end when the whole process delivers a wine that embodies the personality of its region. Familia Belasco has been doing this for eight generations.

We will be delighted to welcome you on a visit to our estate to introduce you to the history of our estate, the work in the vineyard, the stages of the process of making our wines followed by a tasting of several of our vintages.

Glad to welcome you

The vines were planted in 1910 on soils of alluvial origin with a stony basement and sandy-limestone-clay sediments. This, combined with a high planting density and the work of our technical team, guarantees very low yields and high quality grapes, with all the properties and characteristics typical of the Malbec grape variety. In parallel with the restoration of the vineyards, various maintenance practices are applied during the growing cycle to ensure optimal quality of the berries. Strict manual selection is also made at the vineyard, followed by a second manual selection in the cellar, in order to use only the best clusters for the production of our wines. For example, the cellar is equipped with a cold room to adapt the berries. temperature after sampling and manual selection line. The grapes are incubated by gravity, without pumping, to ensure that the berries arrive intact in the vat. The winemaking is carried out in French oak vats and small stainless steel vats, with cold and hot temperature regulation.
