The G. Miclo Distillery The region concentrates several distilleries because fruit trees are widely present in the East of France. The son of a wine merchant and fruit lover, Gilbert Miclo created the eponymous Distillery in 1962 in Lapoutroie in Alsace, at the foot of the Vosges. From the outset, the choice was made to privilege the quality of its eaux-de-vie to quantity, in order to offer spirits of true aromatic power. This quality requirement has made it possible to obtain numerous distinctions at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris, which have contributed to the development of the reputation of the "G. Miclo" brand. Thus, subsequently, the eaux-de-vie G. Miclo found themselves on the tables of the largest restaurants "Michelin stars" as well as in many prestigious wine merchants. Old stillThe distillery building Today, the Distillery has 16 employees and produces nearly 200,000 bottles each year. Half of the sales are made with fruit eaux-de-vie, which have given the Distillery notoriety. We have always listened to the market and our customers. It is for this reason that in parallel with the range of "traditional" products (eaux-de-vie, liqueurs and fruit creams), we developed in the early 2010s a range of flavored vodkas and more recently in 2016, 3 references of Single Malt whiskies. The distribution of our products is done to individuals for 1/3 and the rest via professionals (wine merchants / delicatessens, restaurants, wholesalers, pastry chefs and export). Finally, the family aspect is particularly close to our hearts, it is for us a guarantee of stability within the company. The third generation of the Miclo family joined the company in 2009 with the objective of continuing and amplifying the diffusion and influence of "G. Miclo" products.
