In the year 949 Our history begins in the year 949, when the Château de Poncié, a property renowned for its wines, which then bears the Latin name of Villa Ponciago, is offered to the Abbey of Cluny. The ambition of this millennial estate is to rediscover the brilliance of the excellence of the great wines of Beaujolais and Cru Fleurie more particularly; wines whose finesse, elegance and above all silky texture once shaped their reputation for excellence. A very old map has long testified to the diversity of the field. The vines are grouped around the eighteenth-century Château and the cuvage, a rather rare arrangement in Beaujolais, and there are no less than 40 distinct terroirs: an invaluable asset to express all the nuances of Fleurie.
