Already in the 19th century, the THOMAS family, located in Mourens, produced wine on the grounds of the Château Laroque Thomas. Their daughter Danielle married Isidore SANCIÉ, son of a winemaker based in the town of Sainte-Croix-du-Mont where he produced sweet wines. Their daughter Jacqueline married Joseph CIGANA and developed the family vineyard. They went from 10 hectares to about 50 hectares. Everything always happened with the family, the work of the vineyard, the harvest, the sale in these clay-limestone hills of the Entre-Deux-Mers. In 1992, their daughter, Françoise, married Frédéric Boudat. They decided to stop working as a dental surgeon for her and podiatrist for him. They take over the family property and thus perpetuate the tradition by being the 5th generation at the head of the vineyard! They will use all their energy to renovate, restructure and expand the vineyard. To date, they have managed more than 130 hectares of vines on 3 sites. Their efforts are rewarded because they get numerous awards on their wines every year. Today their three children, Marion, Thomas and Nicolas are students and hope one day to take up the torch and become the 6th generation at the head of the Vineyards BOUDAT CIGANA. See less
