Description

Located in the center of the Loire Valley, the Clos du Porteau is located along the Cher, at the crossroads of all the beautiful appellations. Our village is at the crossroads of two climatic influences. on the one hand the oceanic climate (Anjou, Saumur, Bourgueil, Chinon) and on the other hand by the continental climate (Sancerre, Pouillé-Fumé, Burgundy). The climate is particularly temperate. The forest of Amboise protects us from the bad weather going up the Loire and the Cher brings us this humidity in autumn, the cool and foggy mornings of this valley.

We will be delighted to welcome you for a presentation of our vineyard.
We will explain the work done in the vineyard, then that done in the vinification to finish by the aging of the wines.
Finally, we will offer you a tasting of some of our cuvées.
We look forward to welcoming you very soon in our vineyards!

The estate has existed for more than 400 years and was from the beginning a closerie. Today it has about ten hectares, a reasonable size to allow to work meticulously each plot. Located in the centre of the Loire Valley, the Clos du Porteau is located along the Cher, a tributary of the Loire. The climate is mild and conducive to the development of the vine, in fact, since the passage of the Romans, the vineyard continues to prosper around exceptional appellations. See less
