Description

The Bergerac vineyard is spread over 93 towns in the Dordogne department (south-west france), around the town of Bergerac. 1,200 winemakers cultivate an area of 12,000 hectares. It produces 13 AOCs, red wines, dry, mellow and sweet white wines and rosé wines.
The AOC Rosette is a place located north of the commune of Bergerac. This amphitheatre of hills that dominates the city is the original territory of the Vinée de Bergerac (1322). In direct competition with the development of residential neighbourhoods, Rosette has become a very confidential name.
Thanks to a patient and meticulous work carried out with passion, the Château de Peyrel has regained its vocation as a vineyard in 2013. Our wines are made in accordance with traditional artisanal methods, with the constant concern to preserve the plant and its fruit, in order to produce natural products and high taste and aromatic quality. So we decided to convert the whole estate into organic farming to preserve an exceptional terroir.

We will be delighted to welcome you on a visit to our estate to introduce you to the history of our estate, the work in the vineyard, the stages of the process of making our wines followed by a tasting of several of our vintages.
We would be very happy to welcome you to Peyrel Castle!

The Château de Peyrel regained its vocation as a vineyard in 2013, hence the name of one of its "Renaissance" vintages, in order to celebrate the resumption of the wine business. Located northwest of Bergerac, the castle was discontinued in the 1950s. The estate, which originally consisted of 600 hectares of vineyards, was sold to several owners. See less
