A pioneer in the manufacture of French whisky (1983), Warenghem, with an established reputation and an adapted volume of production, is in the process of succeeding in the export challenge. Interview with David Roussier, current director.
Mr. Roussier, how far did the distillery go before going into export?
"It's a multi-phase job. The first took place between 1980 and 2000. It corresponds to a period of discovery of the world of whisky during which Warenghem becomes familiar with the different players in this market.

A pioneer in France in whiskey distillation with the commercial launch of the WB blend in 1987 and then with the 1st 100% French Single Malt Armorik in 1998, the Warenghem distillery is an essential classic of French whiskey. While it is a giant in France, Warenghem remains modest in size (similar to Edradour's) compared to Scottish distilleries. It has recently exported to Europe, thus contributing to the influence of French know-how. See less
