The visit continues in the former breeding cellar of the estate, which is located under the castle in order to understand the influence of breeding on the wine. The Domaine du Château de Chamirey, planted in the best terroirs of Mercurey, comprises 37 hectares. Today, Amaury and Aurore Devillard represent the 5th generation of Burgundians, men and women of wine. In 1934, their grandfather, the Marquis de Jouennes, as a precursor, decided to bottle the wines of Château de Chamirey at the Domaine. Following him, his son-in-law, Bertrand Devillard, continues his work and expands the Domaine in the best terroirs of Mercurey to bring it to its current size of 37 hectares. See less
