Château de L.

User profile description

A story A typical Mâconnaise house accompanied by an old cuvage now transformed into a museum, testify to the presence of a wine-making activity from 1585. It was subsequently that the vaulted cellar was built in 1789 and, finally, the castle, a success of its past, built in 1830. In 1924, the Greuzard family acquired the estate and since then has been permanently restoring it. Men For 4 generations now, our family has been producing wine in the Mâconnais at Château de la Greffière. It is therefore with experience that we approach each vintage in order to produce wines offering a singular palette of aromas and a richness of expression. Geography and grape varieties We are located in the town of La Roche Vineuse, in the Mâconnais, in the south of Burgundy. This very hilly region is home to different appellations such as "Bourgogne Aligoté" or "Mâcon La Roche-Vineuse". We work on the four Burgundian grape varieties "Chardonnay" – "Aligoté" for whites and "Pinot noir" – "Gamay" for reds. These are not implanted by chance, they are suitable for the elaboration of quality wines on our terroirs so precious. As evidenced by the different A.O.C. present in our region, these grape varieties develop their characteristics and offer a range of wines as different as they are elegant, "Burgundy", "Saint Véran". Thanks to this privileged geographical location, we offer the estate no less than eight appellations.
