Inside the Dora Sarchese winery there is a fountain from which free wine comes out every day, a special place with a special history. The idea of a wine fountain here in Abruzzo was born from the intuition of Dina and Luigi, two passionate walkers of Ortona who, during their pilgrimage to the tomb of Santiago de Compostela, met a wine fountain available for all tired pilgrims. This experience gave Dina and Luigi the intention to achieve the same on the path they had helped to give birth to, il Cammino di San Tommaso, a long path between Rome and Ortona, connecting the tombs of the Apostles Peter and Thomas. Just on the way to San Tommaso, a few kilometers from Ortona, we find our cellar, the right place to realize our wine fountain, where pilgrims from all over the world could cool off by the fatigues of the long journey. This beautiful intuition has become a reality thanks to the collaboration of many people: our Nicola D'Auria and the whole family of the Cantina Dora Sarchese, the members of the association the Cammino di San Tommaso and the architect Rocco Valentini who realized the project of the fountain. The wine fountain is open to all pilgrims at the same opening hours of the Dora Sarchese winery.
