User profile description

THE CHANTEGUT DOMAIN Our history In 1959, the Marseille family, current owner of the Domaine de Chantegut, inherited a plot of 10 hectares of land and cleared it to plant the first Vacqueyras PDO vines. The following year are acquired 4 hectares of vines around the Château de Tourreau (Sarrians) as well as a building that is today the wine cellar. In 1974, the eldest son of the family took over, with the wish to develop the estate and more particularly, the bottle. He then proceeded to several improvements, enlargement, moderization of the cellar and material investments ... The wine cellar is located in the main building of the farm, an old magnaneraie – a silkworm farm – of the eighteenth century. To date, the estate extends on the path of the Dentelles of Montmirail "Mons mirabilis" and Mont Ventoux the "Giant of Provence". It totals 55 hectares including about 20 hectares in PDO Vacqueyras and 35 hectares in PGI Mediterranean.
