User profile description

The founder Pasquale Tomei Son of Domenico Tomei, always characterized by the great mustache, he had the temperament and passion from an early age that led to the quarrel with the priest of the time of the church of S. Maria de Cryptis. Following this event, the nickname "Maligni" was given, which accompanies us from generation to generation. A road is also dedicated to Maligni in the commune of Chieti which represents the link between our family and the Territory. The figure of his grandfather seemed even more fascinating to me, because with these grapes that I helped to harvest, he had obtained from an almost magical experience, there, in the fresh and dark cellar, preserved with the same devotion as a church, a wine that brought to the people of the city. They all seemed seduced by their grandfather's wine, by the tradition that perpetuated aromas and flavors. The neighbor also made wine, but it was profoundly different from his grandfather's and it was not as good: wine was a matter of trust. On the Sunday of the harvest spent removing the bunches from the vines, the pressing of the grapes with their feet in the vats are now distant memories. In the past, the figure of the grandfather winemaker seemed imposing and good: in the harvest everything was abundance, joy and hope. The same serene atmosphere was savored under the pergola the following May, during the tasting of the first bottles of the latest collection. It was fascinating, the color of the young wine, the mousse that filled the glass and then disappeared, the taste with a touch of sweetness, and the ham that was sliced to offer it to the customer, even then considered sacred.
