12 hectares on chasselas et leynes The Domaine du Château consists of 12 hectares of vineyards, shared between Burgundy and Beaujolais. Chardonnays produce the famous Pouilly-Fuissé and Saint-Véran but also the Crémant de Bourgogne; the gamay provides the red Mâcon, the Red Beaujolais-Villages, the Rosé and our famous Rose Eternelle – an effervescent rosé wine full of surprises! The Estate is labeled HVE – High Environmental Value – thus validating our approach in favor of biodiversity! corkscrew Chasselas and History Chasselas was a relay on the road from Lutecia to Ludgunum. The village also gave its name to the famous grape variety. The Lords of Chasselas built the Castle in 1325, which then passed into the hands of more than 12 families. Long abandoned, his resurrection began in the 70s, and has accelerated since 1999 with the current owners. Work, sensitivity, innovation and openness are keywords with which to juggle on a daily basis to deliver a lively product of the best quality. wine glasses Les Barons Veyron la Croi We find the oldest traces of the Veyron la Croix in the 16th century in the region of Saint-Etienne de St-Geoirs (Dauphiné) with Claude, merchant by profession; a family of local notables, it was then for many generations a family of soldiers; but no trace of winemaker before Jean-Marc embarked on the adventure in 1999! His grandfather Julien Faure passed on his experience, teaching him the work of the vine and the art of vinifying in the magnificent Pays des Pierres Dorées, in the south of Beaujolais, a warm and luminous land.
