Labastide-d'Armagnac
User profile description

Carole Garreau, 4th generation of the Garreau family now manages the estate. It was his great-grandfather who decided to settle in 1919 on the best terroirs: the famous tawny sands, loamy sandy soil of ocher color, source of life and rare products. Château Garreau is at the heart of the golden triangle of Armagnac, these "1st grands crus of Grand Bas Armagnac" as they were previously called. Also known as the Gayrosse estate, Château Garreau now covers 82 hectares, straddling the departments of Landes and Gers. Its location, in the heart of Bas Armagnac, near the magnificent medieval city (thirteenth century) of Labastide d'Armagnac, makes it one of the most beautiful jewels of Armagnac. Our 27 hectares of vineyards, mainly dedicated to Armagnac are led in sustainable agriculture. They flourish in a preserved environment, between woods and ponds.
