Description

Vineyard - Terroir
Our champagne is the result of an ancestral know-how but also of the typicality of the land of Champagne and the selection of grape varieties.
THE TERROIR
The harsh climate of the Champagne countryside has a fantastic counterpart, namely a slow and steady maturation that promotes the finesse of the aromas as well as an excellent balance between acidity and sugar, a guarantee of freshness and roundness.
Planted on the hillsides, on a chalky basement, the vine enjoys 3 advantages:

Optimal exposure to the sun

A poor soil that allows the vine to concentrate on the production of grapes rather than wood.

Regulation of water supply through the chalky basement
THE GRAPE VARIETY
Nearly twenty centuries of vine cultivation in Champagne have made it possible to select the following three grape varieties:

PINOT NOIR:
This black white-juice grape can be found on the Reims Mountain and in the Côte des Bars (Aube). It brings to the wine, body, power and length in the mouth. Champagne owes its aromas of red fruit. Pinot Noir accounts for 37% of Champagne's vineyards.

PINOT MEUNIER:
This vigorous grape variety flourishes in the rich soils of the Marne Valley. Black grape with white juice, it gives the wines their freshness and brings them fruity notes. Pinot Meunier accounts for 37% of the vines of the Champagne vineyards.

CHARDONNAY:
This variety is present on the Côte des Blancs as well as in the Sézannais. Synonymous with elegance and finesse, this white grape brings delicate aromas of wild flowers, citrus fruits and exotic fruits to the wine. Chardonnay accounts for 26% of the Champagne vineyard.

The name "Champagne" is strictly limited to 35,000 hectares. The Champagne vineyards owe their richness to an extraordinary fragmentation: with more than 300 villages or "raw" and a mosaic of small plots, each grape expresses its personality differently and brings to the champagne wine an incredible complexity.

We will be delighted to welcome you for a presentation of our vineyard.
We will explain the work done at the vineyard, then the one done to the winemaking to finish by the wine growing.
Finally, we will offer you a tasting of some of our vintages.
We look forward to welcoming you very soon!

The vine in inheritance A few kilometers from the hustle and bustle of Reims and Epernay, the Bernard Remy Champagne, created more than 50 years ago by Bernard Remy himself, stands out for its voluntary spirit. It is in Allemant, a small village on the Côte des Blancs, that the family transforms its grapes into Champagne wine. THE ORIGIN OF THE ALLEMANT VINEYARD In 1968, Bernard Remy bought his first vines in the village. He marketed his first vintages on the French market a few years later. It was in 1983 that he decided to build a real winery to develop his own wine and thus become "master" of his production. Wanting to expand his vineyard, he bought three more hectares in 1986, tripling his production. As the cellar became too narrow to store these exceptional bubbles, he expanded it in 1990, 1997 and again in 2008 allowing the bottles to age in the best conditions and leaving time to complete his work. A FATHER-TO-SON TRANSMISSION Rudy, his son, who arrived on the farm in 1996, took over the house in 2008, but Bernard is never far away. The discreet family home has always seen its turnover increase gradually and steadily thanks to the word of mouth of its customers. CHAMPAGNE - EXPORT With her experience in the French market, she started in 2002 to bet on international markets. First of all in Belgium and Germany, the company has gradually conquered European markets thanks to the quality of its wines, its consistency, and above all its ability to adapt to the most complex expectations. The company is now moving towards the big export, with a nice presence in Europe and some successes around the world as in ASIA and North America and Latin America. See less
