Cultivate ten different varieties in their vineyards, including Cari-ena, the indigenous grape variety named after the region
The Grande Vinos winery has an impressive 4,500 hectares of vineyards in 14 municipalities of Cariaena. They grow a total of ten different varieties of grapes in their vineyards, including Cari-ena, the native grape variety that takes its name from the region. Other grape varieties grown in the vineyards are grenache, tempranillo, cabernet sauvignon, syrah, merlot, chardonnay, white grenache, macabeo and Moscatel de Alejandràa. The great advantage of the Great Vinos, the vineyards are scattered throughout the region and multiple grape varieties are cultivated. They produce red, white, rosé, sparkling and dessert wines at the Grandes Vinos winery. Most of the wines produced are called DO Cari-ena, one of the first appellations created in 1932 in Spain.
