Description
Château le Puy uses the method known as "organic farming" and "bio-dynamic", somewhat surprising terms, to say that we practice the cultivation of the vine as our grandfathers did, that is to say without the addition of chemical fertilizers, herbicides or synthetic insecticides.
During the harvest, special attention is paid so that the grape grains are not crushed before arriving at the wine tree. So there is practically no oxidation of the wort before the start of fermentation. Levurage and chaptalization are not practiced.
We will be delighted to welcome you for a presentation of our vineyard.
We will explain the work done in the vineyard, then that done in the winemaking to finish with the aging of the wines.
Finally, we will offer you a tasting of some of our vintages.

Rules and conditions
The visits indicated at the price of 1 € mean that they are carried out free of charge by the winemaker. This amount is requested to ensure the seriousness of your request and avoid the winemaker to block a visiting slot unnecessarily. If the tasting has satisfied you, the purchase of wine (on site or in home delivery) will reward the work of the winemaker! We encourage you to buy at least one bottle when a visit/tasting has been offered to you for free.
In case of cancellation, we kindly ask you to cancel your visit to the platform, which will allow you to immediately notify the winemaker.
The confirmation of your reservation by the winemaker is imperative to validate your visit.

On the same rocky plateau as Saint-Emilion and Pomerol, overlooking the magnificent Dordogne valley, located on the site called by the ancients "the Côteau des Merveilles" for the excellence of its own, the place of exploitation of Château le Puy is the second highest geodesic point of the Gironde department. The current part of the Castle was built in 1832 by our ancestor Barthélemy AMOREAU but the original part dates from the early seventeenth century. See less
