Description
On a winery dating back to the 17th century, the BADER-MIMEUR family has been operating vineyards in and around Chassagne Montrachet for ten generations. The estate has an imposing winery dating back to the 19th century, built of Chassagne stone in which winemaking and wine-growing takes place.
The Bader Mimeur family is fortunate to own patches of red and white on land south of the Beaune coast among the most sought after by lovers around the world. This is especially the case on whites with neighbouring plots (in Journoblot in particular) of the mythical Montrachet.
THE SOUTH of the GOLD COTE is subject to the influence of air masses of Mediterranean, Atlantic or continental origin. These sustained winds can bring hot or cold (the eastern kiss) but have the advantage of sweeping the weather. Montagne and MONT RACHET in the west form a natural barrier to the elements.
On the soil side, it is a cocktail of clay, silica, limestone, iron oxide, in very different proportions depending on the plots. The adequacy between the nature of the soil, the exposure, the altitude, the choice of the grape variety is the key to the success of the CHASSAGNE MONTRACHET and the GREAT CRUS of the Village.
