Domaine de la Garance - Les Armières - 2003 - Vin de pays de l'Hérault

Red

Description

Atypical, this 100% Carignan was harvested at optimal maturity after having benefited from non-certified organic cultivation. The vinification is done in whole bunches and the wine is aged for 2 years in concrete vats and oak barrels. After resting in the cellar for ten years and decanting for 2 hours before serving, it reveals an intense purple color, intense aromas of red fruits enhanced by touches of garrigue and menthol. It will be a sensation with a grilled duck breast.

Know a bit more about the domain

Pierre Quinonero from Domaine de la Garance, one of the best winegrowers in Languedoc.
Located at altitude (400 m) just next to the Faugères appellation, the estate benefits from a very beautiful terroir, very diversified too: basalt, limestone, pebbles... among others. Most of the plots are in Caux, a small Languedoc village near Pézenas. The vineyard is composed for the reds of old Carignans (55 years on average) and Syrahs, and for the whites of very old Ugnis and Clairettes (some vines are centenarians).
