Domaine Vacheron - Sancerre Les Romains - 2020 - Sancerre

White

Description

It is a very balanced and harmonious white Sancerre. A wine with a beautiful minerality with notes of citrus fruits, white flowers and a gunflint side. The Sancerre from the Vacheron estate is very fine, slightly tart and smoky. It will go perfectly with your fish, shellfish or goat cheese such as Crottin de Chavignol.

Know a bit more about the domain

Created by Maurice Vacheron from an area of just one hectare of vines at the beginning of the 20th century, the Vacheron estate is located in Sancerre where it produces wines on the terroirs of Sancerre. His son Jean, subsequently increased the area of the property with 3 hectares of additional vines of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. In 1962, Jean became the president of the AOC Sancerre winegrowers. His sons developed the vineyard from 1965 and produced red and white Sancerres from the best terroirs.
Since 2004, the estate has been certified in organic and biodynamic farming. Jean-Laurent Vacheron and his family cultivate 47 hectares of vines grouped together on the geological fault of Sancerre. The white and red wines come from soils of flint and limestone.
