Discover the alliance between modernity and tradition during this visit to Château La Croizille, and enjoy a pleasant lunch break surrounded by vineyards thanks to the picnic basket!
You will visit the 2 wine properties of the De Schepper family on the Saint Emilion appellation.
These 2 properties at the same time neighbors have a completely complementary profile:
- The Château Tour Baladoz, with its authentic and traditional cellar of the appellation.
- Château La Croizille, looking to the future with its cellar at the forefront of modernity.
This experiment will take place as follows:
- Visit of the small educational garden where are present the 6 different grape varieties authorized on bordeaux: Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit verdot, Carménère. Explanations on the specificities of each grape variety and the principle of assembly of Bordeaux and Saint Emilion.
- Explanations on the notion of terroir through soil extraction.
- Visit of the historic winery of Château Tour Baladoz. Explanations about the winemaking process.
- Visit of the historic barrel cellar of the Château Tour Baladoz. Explanations about the breeding process.
- Visit of château La Croizille. Explanations of the differences in winemaking processes between a traditional castle and a modern château using the latest technologies (both in blending, winemaking and ageing).
This visit will be followed by a commented tasting of 3 wines in Saint-Emilion Grand Cru: the second wine of Château Tour Baladoz, the first wine of Château Tour Baladoz and the first wine of Château La Croizille.
You will finally enjoy a quiet lunch break with magnificent views of the vineyards. On the menu, a picnic basket consisting of local products and a glass of wine from the property.
