Description

The Vilmart house was established, with 2 hectares of vineyards, between 1872 and 1890 by Désiré Vilmart in Rilly-la-Montagne, a small village located a few kilometers south of Reims. The brand itself was created by his son, Charles, in 1902.
Today, it has 11 hectares of vineyards; they are exclusively planted in Premier Cru.
Anxious to work its vines in harmony with nature, Maison Vilmart is committed to a daily viticulture that respects the environment. Certified High Environmental Value (HVE) and Sustainable Viticulture (VDC), observing the principles of the Ampélos charter, the House defends biodiversity and its ecosystem. This attentive conduct allows the production of singular wines, reflecting the terroir from which they come.
Patience, consistency, humility are essential to sublimate the wines. So is the philosophy of the house.

We will be delighted to welcome you for a presentation of our vineyard.
We will explain the work done at the vineyard, then the one done to the winemaking to finish by the wine growing.
Finally, we will offer you a tasting of some of our champagnes.
Looking forward to welcoming you very soon to the Vilmart House

Family for five generations, the Maison Vilmart is animated by a singular intuition, a taste for precision and a certain form of freedom. It was in 1890 that the house was founded in the heart of the village of Rilly-la-Montagne by Desiree Vilmart. Since 1955, Laurent Champs has been in charge of the estate and works hard and with the utmost respect for the work of the four generations that preceded it. See less
