This native of 1989 is a pure child of Burgundy. Although his parents were not winemakers, he was immersed in the world of wine from an early age. On his mother's side, grapes are harvested in the high shores of Beaune. His father Bruno began to organize guided tours in the vineyards around Beaune at a time when the word wine tourism was not in the dictionary. Just after his baccalaureate in hospitality at Saint-Bénigne High School in Dijon, Charles took command of the kitchens of the hotel-restaurant "L'Abbaye de Maizières", a 12th century Cistercian stone cathedral that houses part of the Gallo-Roman castrum of Bellenum, the protective belt that will protect the city before Vauban builds the ramparts. After a little more than two years with his uncle working in the vineyard, he will go a year and a half to discover another wine-growing continent, Australia. First at Smallfry Wines in the Barossa valley, then in Crinckelwood. He perfected his English and his knowledge of wine and those who would later become his customers: "Sometimes it's easier for me to speak English than French!" Since 2009, he has been in charge of guiding Safari Tours customers who are 70% American and 90% foreign. Its jovial nature, turned towards the other, is coupled with a solid knowledge of the vineyard and the people who compose it. Bellenum - Gallo-Roman name of Beaune See less
