AMIRAL: Elaborated only from press wines of exceptional vintages, the wines of the Cuvée Admiral are aged more than 24 months in oak barrels that were previously used for 2/3 of wines. Ready to drink, they age well and keep for 10 to 15 years. The wines of the cuvéeAmirals are made only from the press wines of exceptional vintages. The first vintage is the 2009. These are reared in oak barrels of 2 wines on average (ageing 24 on average), with a change of barrel after 12 months. This breeding allows to combine power, elegance and length with tannins already melted, which announce great wines of guard. reserve: Reserve red wines are aged between 15 and 18 months in oak barrels that have been served for 2/3 of the wines. Ready to drink, they age well and keep for 5 to 10 years. The wines of the cuvéeRereservefo are reared in oak barrels of 2 wines on average (ageing time 18 months on average), which gives them a power and length not excluding roundness or fruit, as well as a delicate woody note and well melted. selection: Our Selection wines are focused on the freshness and flavour of the aromas. These summer wines made from gout wine are aged for up to 6 months in stainless steel vats. These wines are good to drink now but keep 3 to 5 years. The cuvéeSeletionproposes spring wines, on the fruit, very aromatic, which offer a beautiful freshness in the mouth. CHENIN BLANC: 2013 saw the release of our first vintage of Chenin. The grapes were hand-picked on a plot planted in 2010. Fermented and raised in used oak barrels, it shows how the terroir of Château du Petit Thouars is capable of making Chenin wines to notice. Keep for at least three years. This second vintage of Chenin is a success for château du Petit Thouars and confirms the potential and style of the terroir where the vines were planted in 2010 and 2011.Reasoned agriculture. Hand-harvested. AOC CRÉMANT DE LOIRE (SPARKLING WINES): These "black white" creamers are made from our hand-picked Cabernet Franc grapes using the traditional champagne method. They are then laid horizontally to age for 2 years. These creamers are made from the raisins of the cabernet franc of the Château du Petit Thouars, entirely harvested by hand. After processing according to the traditional method, they then stay for two years in the cellar on slats. See less
