Le Fief Noir, cantor of Anjou Noir
Le Fief Noir is a 30ha winery located in the heart of Anjou Noir near Angers in the town of Saint-Lambert du Lattay.
Anjou Noir is a unique wine region at the eastern end of the Armorican Massif and the northwestern part of Anjou. Black because of the rock that makes up its subsoil, shale. Formed about 300 million years ago, the shales of Anjou Noir by their history and the transformations they have undergone offer an exceptional diversity of relief and soils. This rock structured in sheet is an ideal terroir for the cultivation of the vine. Indeed the many cracks in the rock will allow the vine to develop its roots within it. The roots will thus be able to explore a vast space and capture a great diversity of minerals. We will find in the wines all the originality of shale.
