Blaignan-Prignac
User profile description

In the vineyards of Château Tour Haut Caussan, a magnificent 17th century mill rises, signalling that you have arrived at your destination. In this family property - the Courrians have lived in Blaignan-Médoc since 1634 and have owned the Château Tour Haut Caussan since 1877 - the harvest is done by hand and the AOC Médoc wines are raised in barrels in a huge winery that you visit during your visit to Blaignan. Fabien Courrian, who looks after the destiny of the vineyard and the winery, tells you the story of Château Tour Haut Caussan and the characteristics of wines raised and bottled on the property. It also introduces you to the mill restored by the companions of duty in 1981, in perfect working condition. A tasting is offered before you resume your walk: just a few kilometers from the Château. Wines: While the 2000, due to its magnificent merlots, remains out of the norm, the performance has not been achieved since. 2001 and 2002 are honest no more. You have to go to 2003 to get back to the style of yesteryear. In the first place, 2004 and 2005 are quite disappointing.
