It was in 1999 that the company Bodegas y Viedos La Mejorada, settled on the remains of a monastery built at the end of the 15th century by hieronymite monks, located a few kilometers from the city of Olmedo, in the province of Valladolid. Thus begins the planting of the vines on the 140 hectares of land that surround the monastery, and a restoration of it. In 2004, the cellar was installed in the remains of the monastery around the cloister. The family business Rafael Moneo became the owner of La Mejorada in 2007.
