History General of the French Revolution, diplomat or minister during the reign of Napoleon III, the Abbatucci family has great men who have marked history by their incredible destiny. The family estate pays tribute to them with its emblematic and confidential Cuvées Collection. The wine history of the Abbatucci estate dates back more than a century. Generations have succeeded each other by passing on heritage and family know-how in turn. In the 60s, Antoine Abbatucci, father of Jean-Charles and then President of the Chamber of Agriculture of Corsica, became aware of the threat hanging over his island by seeing the disappearance of life and culture in mountain villages. He then decided to create a conservatory of the endemic grape varieties of his island, a real treasure of the Corsican wine heritage. Eighteen varieties are thus planted on a single plot of granite arena hillsides. But it was his son Jean-Charles, biodynamicist, who knew how to exploit this gold mine at its true value, while launching the wish and the will, with the great Corsican winegrowers, to develop the return to the cultivation of traditional grape varieties. Biodynamics Since the year 2000, the Estate is cultivated in biodynamic agriculture. The production of the Domaine is thus committed to preserving the original and specific flavors of the Corsican terroir, taking into consideration nature and soils. This method helps to regenerate soils and plants: the work periods are chosen according to the lunar cycles and the time of day. It uses herbal and mineral preparations. On a living land and in respect of the environment, the vineyard produces a healthy and balanced grape, which, once vinified, transcribes all the aromas of the Corsican maquis (immortal and myrtle in particular.
