User profile description

Jean Foillard is one of the unmissable names of the Beaujolais landscape. A series of misadventures had led to his release from the Green Guide: it was normal to restore him. Known for his "nature" style, Jean made his debut in the family estate in 1981. With a firm hand, he has retained a free style, but without deviance, from which flow very regular wines, and very deep. Organic viticulture, sulphur-free winemaking, whole harvesting and cask farming are not the only keys to success, of course. Because to produce these wines "free" but precise, the careful monitoring under the microscope is one of the fundamental parameters. Jean Foillard gently passes the witness on to his son, Alex. After travelling the world, and taking over a few hectares of vines in his own name, he takes over step with the will to continue his father's work, while instiling his own sensibility. We feel a noticeable progression in the last vintages tasted, which leads to consider a second star.
