We believe that we are the guardians of the earth. Our job is to take care of it as best we can and pass it on from one generation to the next. We also pass on the traditions taught to us by our ancestors. We maintain the vineyard by hand, and more recently, as our winery has grown, we adhere to the traditional methods of the winery. We focus on traditional Varieties and Blends of Barossa, but we are not afraid to try different varieties as the wine industry in Australia is still in its infancy. Our vineyard is in Vine Vale; our soil is deep white sand on red clay. We believe Vine Vale is the most versatile and consistent wine region in the Barossa Valley. Our wines have a unique character with balance and structure. THE FULL STORY THE CELLAR DOOR - THE DEN Happy moments are always on the menu and memories are deeply precious. The best wine and good food are shared. There are many ways to discover the den. Tasting new products with a view of the cellar to the Barossa Ranges. Enjoy aged wines in a museum at one of our wood-fired dinners by one of our favourite chefs. Amy Loechel's striking artwork hangs from the rafters. Staff drinks, family shows and private receptions are regular events. DEN EXPERIENCE OUR WINES Our wines have a unique character with balance and structure. They are fruity because we believe in our vineyard and we want you to taste the unique flavors of the wines of this particular site. Our range of wines has an obvious house style as they are all made and grown in the same way in the same terroir. Our wines honestly represent the vintage. Rusden is a "vigneron" in the truest sense of the word. We grow grapes, make and bottle wine and sell the wine ourselves.
