User profile description

In 1906, Antoine Mari, an olive oil merchant from Nice, built the Château de Crémat on the land of his ancestors "Li plana de Mari". He thus contributed to the rebirth of the Bellet vineyard. In the 1940s, Pierre Tomé became the new owner of the Château. Visionary, he worked for the recognition of Bellet at the national level and had this terroir registered as an Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée in 1941. A central figure and president of the winegrowers' union, he wrote a decisive chapter in the history of Bellet. Château de Crémat was taken over in 2017 by a family of French industrialists who are passionate about the vineyards and the region. Proud of this unique heritage, she strives to highlight the unique history of the castle through many changes: renovation of the rooms, respect for the colors of Nice and decoration of the interiors in a "roaring twenties" style. The Château was furnished with furniture from the Ritz, a famous Parisian palace, whose furniture was purchased at an auction.
